We are postponing our cooking sessions until the COVID-19 lockdown has been lifted. You can still sign up to be teacher or student – but in-person cooking sessions will not happen until the situation has been resolved.

Deni's story

I was remarkably relaxed about my first teaching session for ShareThyme. When I signed up for the project I had a clear idea of what I wanted to offer and what I wanted from the project.

My first student was a young guy who has plenty of experience of cooking but wanted to learn how to cook Veggie Pilaf. He, along with someone from ShareThyme, came to my apartment for the session and I think that is why it was so relaxing. I was on home ground, I knew where everything was and I could use my utensils and cooker.

The entire session was a joy from start to finish. He brought enthusiasm and energy and was a very willing student.

For my part, it was delightful to share my knowledge and experience of cooking, something I haven't been able to do since my children left home. I'm really looking forward to the next time.
